Trainer, Facilitator and Consultant in Development
Rita Sengupta, is a freelancing consultant/ Facilitator to few organisations in corporate and social sector. She is also a visiting resource person to some Academic Institutions. She facilitates National and International workshops, Seminars and Events especially for Executives, Women, Teaching Faculty and students organized by various organizations. She served as Director, Behavioral Science at NIESBUD, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship for more than 17 years, as EDP specialist for five years, worked with MDI, Gurgaon, and YWCA of India before Serving NIESBUD.
Rita Sengupta has about 33 years of Experience in Training, Research and Consultancy in Entrepreneurship Development. Her area of specialization is in Motivation Development, Women Empowerment, Livelihoods &Micro Enterprise, Training Pedagogy and Impact Assessment. A post graduate in Psychology from the University of Delhi, an Accredited Trainer in Achievement and Excellence Motivation, Rita obtained her professional qualifications in Entrepreneurship Development from Durham Business School U.K, Entrepreneurship For SME from SIDA, Case development from IIM Ahmadabad. She has also obtained her training from EDII, Ahmedabad, and ISABS. Contributed in pioneering research work in women entrepreneurship development during the year 1983 to 1986 and worked for the development of entrepreneurship training curriculum. Rita designed Trainers Training for entrepreneurship development, for the first time during the year 1987, apart from conducting various Training Programmes. She has so far trained more than 800 trainers through her Accreditation Programme in Achievement Motivation (a flagship programme of NIESBUD) Worked very closely with the Spring Board Programme of British Council and has been a resource person in many workshops. Designed and delivered a programme on Gender Equity through entrepreneurships Development in more than 12 universities. Contributed significantly in Entrepreneurship Education in schools and colleges She has been a team leader/resource to some very innovative project in Micro Enterprise Development and livelihood programme by national and international agencies like EDI World Bank (WEMTOP Project), Commonwealth Youth programs, IFC World Bank, SIDA , British Council and Deshpande Foundation and ILRT Hyderabad. She has a wide exposure in imparting training to International participants, Government officials, Public Sector, Corporate and Developmental Sector. Widely travelled in India and overseas, she also has few published work in the field of Entrepreneurship.
