UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION PRESS NOTE RESHEDULING OF THE CIVIL SERVICES(PRILIMINARY EXAMINATION, 2021)   Due to the privailing conditions caused by the Novel Corona Virus(COVID-19),   the Union Public service Commision has deferred the Civil Services(Priliminary) Examination, 2021,  which was scheduled to be held on 27th June, 2021.  Now, this Examination will be held on 10th October, 2021.


What is Current affairs?

• Current means recent and affairs mean events, issues etc. current affairs are the events of political or social interest and importance happening in the world at the present time.
How many Months current affairs is required for UPSC/CSE?
For Prelims -
• One year current affairs till 15 days prior to the month of prelims exam is important (it is always better to start following current affairs once the candidate decides to appear for UPSC/CSE)
For Mains -
• One year current affairs till one month before the mains in which candidate is appearing.

What is the Importance of Current affairs in UPSC/CSE Prelims Exam ?
Current Affairs is the most critical part of CSE Prelims as well as CSE Mains Exam

You can see that the weightage given for Current events in Prelims is more than that of any other subjects
UPSC asks questions from current affairs in mains also especially GS-1 , GS-2 , GS -3 are completely dominated by the current affairs.
In UPSC CSE Mains Questions are asked by combining Current affairs with Static knowledge to check the candidate’s ability of correlate current affairs with the static knowledge
